"Moyro Code" emerges from Vincent Scheers’ distinctive material vocabulary: natural pigments, dyes, and bleaching agents applied to nettle canvas. The work is defined by its tactile qualities – subtle transitions, areas of lightening, and the inherent texture of the woven surface. Throughout his practice, Scheers explores the relationship between humans and animals. In "Moyro Code," the initially abstract image structure gradually resolves upon closer inspection into a figurative motif: two horse figures emerge from the painted surface.

About the Artist Vincent Scheers

Vincent Scheers (b. 1990 in Belgium) works with unusual means: natural pigments, dyes and bleach on nettle cloth. From this restrained material vocabulary he develops images whose appeal lies in their materiality and in subtle transitions. Scheers is represented by the Munich gallery Wunderkunst, which presents his work internationally.
