„Untitled (Stem)“ (2022) is a large-scale work in wax pastel on canvas with a wooden hanging device. As throughout her painting, Jung A Lee circles here around the capturing of unconscious, potential states: a „stem“ – a shoot or point of departure – suggests growth and branching without closing into a fixed form. In soft, pastel transitions the image remains suspended between suggestion and dissolution – an open space of possibility between perception and imagination.
